What is the difference between E52100 and 52100 steel in chemical property , application , mechanical property ?

  • The Difference Between E52100 and 52100 Steel in Chemical Property :

 E52100 and 52100 also from the standard of  A29/A29M ASTM.

52100 steel maybe require the following maximum : copper 0.30%; copper 0.50%; oxygen 0.0015% depend on the buyer’s need .

The Carbon component, E52100 with 0.98-1.10,  52100 with 0.93-1.05; the Sulfur component , E52100 with ≤0.025 ,52100 with ≤0.015.

And others with same for both steel .

From the material’s type are belongs to the alloy bearing steel .

E52100 and 52100 Steel are applying to make various bearing rings and rolling bodies but the actual items with application as below :

 52100 steel is used in bearings in rotating machinery.

E52100 steel is suitable for manufacturing military bearing products, special bearings, aeroengine bearings, precision instruments, precision spindle bearings, etc. 

  • The E52100 and 52100 Steel’s character separately :

E52100steel has high hardenability and can obtain high and uniform hardness after heat treatment. Wear resistance is better than E, contact fatigue strength is high, it has good dimensional stability and corrosion resistance, cold deformation plasticity is medium, machinability is general, weld-ability is poor, it is sensitive to white spot formation, it has the first class temper brittleness. A precision special bearing steel remelted by electroslag. It has the characteristics of high purity, high density, good carbide uniformity and better fatigue performance than ordinary bearing steel.

52100 steel is corrosion-resistant, has excellent hardenability and good machinability. It is mainly used commercially to make steel bearings.
