4Cr13 is a stainless steel material with high hardness and high wear resistance.
4Cr13 has higher hardness and good corrosion resistance than 3Cr13 after quenching. And it hardening hardness generally above HRC48 .
Application of 4Cr13:
Industry: suitable for discharge, grinding processing, suitable for high mirror and high precision injection mold cavity, high hardness and toughness after heat treatment, can also do stamping mold accessories, templates, etc., there are requirements on the surface of the contact product clamping fixture mold, etc.; Applicable to high temperature rust and corrosion prevention scenarios.
Civil use: can make food knives, outdoor knives.
Mechanical Properties :
Hardness: Annealing,≤201HB, indentation diameter 3.9~4.3mm; Quenching, or 50 HRC
Heat treatment specification and metallographic structure:
Heat treatment specification :
1) Annealing,800~900℃ slow cooling or about 750℃ fast cooling;
2) quenching,1050~1100℃ oil cold ;
3) Tempering,200~300℃ fast cooling.
Metallographic structure: The structure is characterized by Martensite type.
Heat Treatment Process :
The steel is delivered in annealed condition.
Forging: oil quenching for die steel has some crack sensitivity, it is not suitable for rapid heating during forging heating, it is best to conduct a preheating at 650-750 degrees, forging heating temperature is 1130-1150 degrees, final forging temperature should be greater than 800-850 degrees, ingot forging upper limit temperature.
Lower limit temperature for billet forging.
The delivery status :
Annealing:
General annealing using 780-800 degrees, heat preservation 4-6 hours, to ≤50 degrees/hour, cooling to 550 degrees air cooling, isothermal annealing using 700-800 degrees heat preservation 2-4 hours, and then 670-720 degrees heat preservation, 2-4 hours, to ≤50 degrees/hour cooling rate cooling to 500 degrees air cooling, The annealing hardness is 241-197Hb
Heat treatment:
The steel has good oxidation resistance and can be used at 600~650℃ for a long time.
