1.2842 Steel Description :
1.2842 steel is cold work die steel.The steel is easy to forge and requires a hardness of 63HRC.
1.2842 with great advantage in low toughness and harden-ability.
The chemical composition of the indium (mass fraction) :
C0.85, Si0.10% % ~ 0.95% ~ 0.40%,
Mn1.90% ~ 2.10%,
P, S acuities were 0.030% and 0.030%,
or less Cr0.20, v0.05% % - 0.50% ~ 0.15%.

Heating specification:
Start temperature 1050°C, end temperature 850°C, cooling with furnace.
Standard for common quenching and tempering:
Quenching temperature 780-810°C,
oil cooling, tempering temperature 160 ~180℃ or 190 ~230℃.
Typical application examples:
1) Used for stamping dies and cutting tools of paper cutter with thickness <6mm.
2) This steel is used for plastic mold, and heat treatment should be performed when used, with hardness of 58~60HRC
