P20 generally with condition in hardened and tempered with the hardness about 330-370HB.
P20 steel, hot work die steel, is the P20 medium carbon Cr-Mo series plastic die steel imported from the United States.Being suitable for making plastic molds and die-casting mold materials for low melting point metals. P20 has good machine-ability and mirror grinding performance in application .
P20 steel is a model of mold welding material, standard: AISI-p20 GS-2311 ASSAB-618
P20 steel has been pre-hardened to 285-330HB (30-36HRC), which can be directly used for mold making and has good dimensional stability. The pre-hardened steel can meet the needs of general use and the mold life can reach 50W mode.
P20 Characteristics:
● Vacuum degassing and refining process to make the pure steel,it suitable for plastic molds that require polishing or etching.
● Supplied in a pre-hardened condition , it can be directly used for mold processing without heat treatment, shortening the construction period.
● After forging and rolling, the structure is dense, 100% ultrasonic inspection, no pores, pinhole defects.

● Thermoplastic blow mould.
● The main components of heavy-duty molds.
● Cold structural parts.
● Commonly used in the manufacture of TV shells, washing machines, refrigerator inner shells, buckets, etc.

Tempering
P20 tool steels are tempered at 482-593°C (900 to 1100°F) for a Rockwell C hardness of 37 to 28.
Annealing
Annealing takes place at 760-788°C (1400 to 1450°F) and then the steels are cooled slowly in the furnace at a temperature less than 4°C (40°F) per hour.
