Description of AISI 4340:
AISI 4340 is an alloy structural steel and also a gear steel.

Features of AISI 4340:
It has high strength, toughness and excellent harden-ability and anti-overheating stability, but it has high white spot sensitivity and temper brittleness.
Poor weld-ability, need to be preheated by high temperature before welding, need to eliminate stress after welding, use after conditioning.

Application of AISI 4340:
l It can be used for important quench and tempering parts requiring good toughness, high strength and large size, such as heavy machinery shaft with high load, turbine shaft with diameter greater than 250mm, helicopter rotor shaft, turboshaft, blade of turbojet engine, transmission parts with high load and crankshaft fasteners.
Gear, etc.;Can also be used to operate the temperature of more than 400℃ rotor shaft and blade;It can also be used to make important parts with special performance requirements after nitriding treatment, and can be used as ultra-high strength steel after low temperature tempering or isothermal quenching.
