Classification of Carbon Steel AISI 1020:
Carbon Steel could be divided into Low carbon steel, Medium carbon steel and High carbon steel.
l Low carbon steel - carbon content is generally less than 0.25%;
l Medium carbon steel -- the carbon content is generally between 0.25 ~ 0.60%;
l High carbon steel -- carbon content generally greater than 0.60%.
Generally the content of Carbon with more that its tolerance will be worse, on the contrary , the element of iron with more the tolerance will be better for steel .
Speciality of AISI 1020:
AISI1020 steel belongs to high-quality with low carbon steel, cold extrusion, deep talk quenching steel.
The steel has low strength, good endurance, plasticity and weld-ability.
Tensile strength of 253-500MPa, elongation ≥24%.
Application of AISI 1020:
Steel Plates are used for the manufacturing of riveting, bolting and welding structural parts .
It is belongs to low carbon steel as it contains with the element for carbon only 0.2%.
