1.2343 die steel belongs to electroslag remelting hot-work die steel. 1.2343 has uniform material and superior machine-ability and polish-ability, good high toughness and high plasticity, high wear resistance at high and low temperatures, and overall hardening performance.
1.2343 die steel characteristics:
1. High heat resistance hot work die steel,
2. Excellent toughness and ductility in all directions,
3. High thermal fatigue resistance and wear resistance,
4. Can be nitrided, 5. Good polish-ability,
6 . Good dimensional stability,
7. Better harden-ability,
8. Better isotropy than conventional molten steel,
9. Can also be used for cold work molds
1.2343 heat treatment:
l Forging Softening Annealing Hardening Tempering
l 1050-850℃ 820-840℃ 1000-1030℃ 530-680℃
l Purity: According to ASTM E45 method A, A sulfide ≤ 0.5, B oxide, C silicate and D spherical oxide each ≤ 1 or DIN 50602-K1 ≤ 10 or according to customer requirements.
l Delivery state of steel: soft annealed, good microstructure, hardness up to 229HB or quenched and tempered to customer requirements.
l Operating status: 30-53HRC.
Ultrasonic inspection:
ASTM A388-FBH max.3mm(1/8inch) or SEP 1921-test group3-classE/e or according to customer requirements.
1.2343 main application:
1. Die-casting mold (mold core, insert, core, shunt cone, nitriding thimble,)
2. Extrusion die (die core, die pad, baffle block,)
3. Hot press forming dies of aluminum, copper, magnesium,
4. Cold punch, hot shear, shrink ring and wear-resistant parts,
